Highly selective. We primarily accept master's-level therapists who now practice beyond traditional models. We also consider a limited number of non-therapist practitioners with extensive, high-quality training and demonstrated depth of practice.

Where humanness is the healing tool

Find a coach who actually meets you there

Not someone who nods while you vent. A practitioner who brings their own humanness into the room as your mirror. They offer real reflection, honest wisdom, and the kind of presence that only comes from someone who has done their own work.

Every practitioner on Unboxed Practice holds a master's degree education or advanced training in their healing modalities, brings a trauma-informed lens, and was hand-selected for approach, expertise, and client outcomes. They work unboxed: without insurance, on their terms, with their authenticity and humanness as the core agent of healing. They help you see what you can't see alone.

Not sure what kind of support you actually need?

Most people come here knowing something isn't working — but not knowing what to call it, or what kind of help would actually move the needle. Our AI guide helps you figure that out through conversation, not a quiz.

Walk away with a personalized summary: which healing modalities fit you, what kind of practitioner presence to look for, and what to actually ask in a consultation.

If this sounds familiar

You've sat across from someone who nodded while you talked — but never quite met you there. You're allowed to want more than this.

You're not looking for a diagnosis. You're not looking for someone to manage your symptoms from behind a clipboard. You're here because you want to be seen — actually seen. Heard in a way that changes something. Felt by someone who has done their own work and isn't afraid to bring that into the room with you. And you're not looking to spend hours scrolling through directories of thousands of practitioners, trying to read between the lines of a bio. You want to hear someone speak — or get on an initial call — and know, somewhere deep in your body, that change is possible in a container with this person.

What people need from healing has changed. Clients aren't only coming because something is wrong anymore — they're coming to understand themselves at the root. To break patterns that have been running the show for decades. To actually feel different, not just understand why they feel this way. That requires a practitioner who works from a different place entirely. One who brings their full humanness into the room. One who knows how to hold complexity without clinicalizing it.

That's why Unboxed Practice exists.

"Healing that actually lands in your body, not just your head."

Why I created Unboxed Practice

For practitioners ready to share their gifts. For clients ready to actually heal.

I created Unboxed Practice because I kept seeing the same gap on both sides. Clinically trained coaches — people with master's degrees, years of supervised experience, and genuine trauma-informed depth — had no home online that reflected the quality and specificity of what they offered. They were invisible on the platforms built for traditional therapy, and lost in the noise of generic coaching directories.

And on the other side: people looking for real support — people who had already done talk therapy, who knew they needed something more embodied, more relational, more honest — had no way to find these practitioners or to know they could trust them.

Unboxed Practice exists to close that gap. To be a community for therapist-trained coaches who are working outside the traditional model — so that they can be found by clients who no longer have to fear whether the person holding their story has the training to hold it well.

And for the practitioners themselves — the ones I watched disappear into directories of thousands, their decade of clinical training reduced to a checkbox, their somatic approach buried between insurance logos and availability filters — I knew they needed somewhere different. A curated home where their expertise could lead. Where their creativity wasn't just permitted but protected. Where they could share their wisdom in a space that reflected the actual depth of what they offer — and build a practice that looked like them, not like a profile in a sea of profiles. The world needs their gifts. It needs them whole.

Rachel Jackson
"I wanted practitioners to have a professional home that matched the depth of their work — and clients to have a way to find them without having to guess if they were credible enough to hold all parts of them effectively. Each Unboxed Practitioner is here because they are rooted in authenticity and inspired to create space for your true healing."
Rachel Jackson
Founder, Unboxed Practice
For coaches

A community where your education, your approach, and your authenticity are the differentiator — not your willingness to accept insurance.

For clients

A way to find a highly skilled practitioner and know — without doubt — that they have the training to hold your trauma with care.

Find your practitioner

You're not just looking for a coach.
You're here to actually change.

Whether you want to improve relationships, move out of stuck patterns, or shift from insight into action — healing needs to be experiential and sustainable. That's why Unboxed Practice exists: to help you find the practitioner whose presence, approach, and methods will make that real for you.

Improve relationships

Practitioners who specialize in relational patterns, attachment, and how you show up with others.

Move out of stuck patterns

Body-based and parts work practitioners who go beyond understanding — into actually shifting.

Shift from insight to action

Coaches who bridge the gap between knowing and doing, with structured support and accountability.

We suggest booking 2–3 free consultations before choosing. Shop around. The relationship you have with your practitioner — and the safety you feel in that connection — is the single most important factor in your results. At Unboxed Practice, we believe fit isn't a bonus. It's everything.

These are not traditional therapists. Practitioners here are either master's-level therapists who have moved outside the traditional therapy structure, or extensively trained non-therapist practitioners with demonstrated depth of practice. They do not accept insurance, do not diagnose, and operate as coaches. If you are in acute mental health crisis, please contact a licensed therapist or crisis line.

Group containers

Heal in community

Small, intimate group containers — 6 to 20 people — hosted by 1 or 2 vetted Collective practitioners. More affordable than 1:1. Deeper than a masterclass. A real arc of change, held in community.

Group containers are hosted exclusively by Collective Room members. Only vetted practitioners who have joined our $49/mo Collective tier may list group containers or co-host a container with another Collective practitioner on Unboxed Practice — individually or as an integrated care team.
For clients

You've done the therapy. You understand your patterns. You're still waiting to actually feel different.

People don't come to healing work just for a diagnosis anymore. They come to be seen. To be heard in a way that lands. To work with someone who brings their full humanity into the room — not a neutral, boundaried clinical presence, but a real person who has done their own work and knows how to hold yours.

Every practitioner on Unboxed Practice is master's-level trained or extensively trained in their modality — and has intentionally chosen to work outside the traditional therapy structure. No insurance, no diagnosis, no clipboard. Just embodied, relational support designed to actually move you.

The matching session

You want to transform. You just don't know where to start.

You know something needs to change. You can feel the patterns — the way you shut down, the way you self-abandon, the way old wounds keep showing up in new relationships. But when you look at a list of modalities — somatic work, IFS, breathwork, NLP, narrative therapy — you have no idea which one is actually for you.

That's exactly what the matching session is for. In 45 minutes with Rachel — an MA MFT who has personally reviewed every practitioner on this platform and understands the nuance of each approach — you'll get clarity on not just who to work with, but how you actually heal. Rachel will identify the modality that fits your nervous system, your communication style, your coping patterns, and what you're ready for. Then she'll connect you with the specific practitioners who will challenge you in exactly the right ways — and support the exact demeanor you bring to the work.

You'll leave knowing
  • Which healing modalities fit how you process
  • What to look for in a practitioner relationship
  • Which 2–3 Unboxed practitioners are your best fit
  • What kind of container — frequency, structure, depth — will actually work for you
This is for you if
  • You've tried traditional therapy and want something different
  • You know you want to grow but don't know which approach fits
  • You want a human, expert opinion — not an algorithm
  • You're ready to go deeper and want a guide to help you choose wisely
Frequently asked questions

Common questions from clients

Rachel personally reads every intake within 48 hours and sends you 2–3 curated practitioner suggestions based on your responses. You'll receive an email with their profiles, a short note on why each was selected for you, and links to book a free consultation with any of them. There is no obligation to book — the suggestions are a starting point, not a prescription.
Unboxed Practice is not the right fit if:
  • You are currently in acute mental health crisis or experiencing suicidal thoughts
  • You need a formal diagnosis or mental health treatment
  • You require insurance-covered therapy
  • You are looking for a traditional licensed therapist operating within the clinical model
If you are in crisis, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) or your local emergency services. Practitioners on Unboxed Practice operate as coaches — they are not crisis resources.
Practitioners here are either master's-level clinicians who have intentionally stepped outside the traditional therapy model, or extensively trained coaches. They do not diagnose, do not accept insurance, and work in a coaching frame — which often means more flexibility, more depth, and a more human relationship than the clinical model allows. Many clients come here after years of traditional therapy, looking for something that actually moves.
Fit is everything — and we say that without caveats. Every practitioner offers a free 20-minute consultation before you commit to anything. We encourage you to book 2–3 consultations before deciding. If it's not right, it's not right. You are never locked in.
The $225 Unboxed Intake Session is a flat rate across all practitioners. Ongoing session rates are set by each practitioner individually and listed on their profile. Rates typically range from $100–$250 per session depending on format and training. None of our practitioners accept insurance.
No. Practitioners do not accept insurance and do not provide superbills. This is intentional — operating outside the insurance system allows practitioners to work without clinical restrictions, with longer sessions, and with the relational depth that insurance-covered therapy rarely permits.
Sessions cancelled more than 24 hours in advance receive a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled session are non-refundable. Masterclass purchases are non-refundable after the session date. To request a refund, email hello@unboxedpractice.com.

"You didn't leave the clinical model because it was too hard. You left because you could see further."

You didn't go into this work to burn out inside of it.

Many practitioners reach a point where there is no room left for creativity. The caseload is heavy. The notes are endless. The insurance battles, the diagnosis codes — all of it compresses something essential. Without creativity, the work becomes mechanical. And you cannot fully serve from that place.

Unboxed Practice exists for the practitioner who is ready to choose a niche that inspires them rather than depletes them — and bring that fully-felt energy to clients who are ready for it.

As a coach, you are not bound by the state you're licensed in. Your clients can be anywhere in the world — because you are not practicing therapy here. You are holding space. The geographic ceiling you've been living under is simply gone.

No insurance forms, no DSM codes, no clinical documentation. You are here to help a person choose a new path forward — so their present life finally feels different. The paperwork that was quietly draining you is simply not part of this.

Bring your somatic tools, your IFS framework, your breathwork, your narrative approach — without the ceiling of a clinical model. Here, your modality is the method, not the footnote. Your creativity isn't a liability. It's the whole point.

You are not alone in this. The Collective Room connects you with other heart-centered, non-traditional practitioners who are choosing integration over institution — and who understand exactly what that took to choose.

You are not a therapist here. You will not diagnose, treat, or prescribe — and that is the entire point. What you will do is show up with your full depth, your creativity, and your genuine care. Here we shift from the head to the heart, from why to how, from then to now.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions from practitioners

After your screening call with Rachel and acceptance, you'll receive a welcome email with onboarding instructions. You'll respond with a practitioner profile form so that Rachel can add in your bio, session info, specialties, and booking links. Your profile is then uploaded by Rachel and sent to you for review — typically within 3–5 business days from acceptance. All practitioners will hop on a 15 minute profile review call with Rachel to make any additional refinements.
1:1 sessions — Unboxed Practice takes a 20% commission on the first session only (the $225 intake session). After that, your income is entirely yours. You set your own rates, collect payment directly from clients, and keep 100% of all ongoing sessions.

Masterclasses — Unboxed Practice sets up every masterclass on our Zoom, handles all payment processing and registrations, and promotes your class to our client audience. You run the session your way — we handle everything before and after. We keep 20% for that — you keep 80% and just show up and teach.

Group containers — You manage payments directly with your enrolled clients, using whatever method works for them (Stripe, bank transfer, installment plan). You keep 90% of total group revenue. Unboxed Practice invoices a 10% platform fee upon group completion, based on your enrollment records. This gives your clients full flexibility on how they pay for higher-ticket containers.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis — you can expect to hear back within 5–7 business days. If selected to move forward, Rachel will reach out to schedule a 30-minute video screening. The screening is a conversation, not an interview — it's an opportunity for both of us to assess genuine fit.
Profile updates — bio, rates, booking links, availability — are handled through Rachel. Email rachel@unboxedpractice.com with your requested changes and they'll be updated within 2 business days.

Many people come to Unboxed Practice knowing they want support — but unsure which modality, approach, or type of practitioner will actually work for them. That uncertainty is completely normal. The answer lives in understanding you: your past patterning, your personality, how your neural pathways have learned to protect you, and how your nervous system responds to different relational styles.

In this 45-minute session, Rachel draws on her clinical expertise as an MFT and her deep knowledge of every practitioner on this platform to help you understand what kind of support fits where you are right now — and to make a curated, personal recommendation of who to work with and why.

Inner child work

I hold a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy, and my path into this work was personal long before it was professional. I spent years trying to think my way into change — understanding my patterns intellectually, while they still lived in my body.

Through my own healing, I came to understand that many of the responses we judge ourselves for — anxiety, avoidance, emotional overwhelm, hyper-independence, people-pleasing — are not flaws. They are protective mechanisms the nervous system developed to maintain connection and safety.

I became less interested in fixing behaviors and more interested in helping people experience safety. When the nervous system feels safe, expression, boundaries, connection, and emotional clarity begin to emerge naturally — not through force. I'll always be human beside you. That's not a disclaimer. That's the whole point.

"The thing we tend to fear the most is ourselves. It's time we change that."
